General Questions

Can I recycle your tape??

Yes! Our Tape Guys tape products are water-based with no VOC's and can be Class 4 Recycled. We care about making quality products that work for our customers, as well as the environment. We ask our customers to support our efforts by recycling used tape in addition to the cores and boxes.

How soon will I receive my order?

We carry everything in-house, and most orders ship the same day if received by 2:00 pm AZ time! Depending on your location, orders should arrive in 1-5 days domestically.

Do you sell branded tape?

Yes! We can create custom products and branding for franchises and companies that require large volumes of tape. Your custom colored tape with your logo as well as any other pertinent info you need. Please contact us for more information!

Will this tape work in my climate?

We have found choosing a formula is more dependent on your technician's preferences and procedures rather than climate. We have customers in identical climate zones doing the same type of work that love the Heavy-Duty Orange. In contrast, others think it is too sticky and enjoy the Light-Tack Green or Medium-Tack Blue. We recommend purchasing a sample pack to choose the right product for your team.

How long can I leave the tape on?

Use our tape on surfaces for hours rather than days or weeks. With time, the adhesive gets more robust and will become difficult to remove.

Can I use your tape outside?

Depending on the product, you can use it to protect equipment or ductwork in transport. Our products are for interior use, and if you would like to use it on exterior building applications, we advise testing for adhesion, time left on, and removal before proceeding on a larger scale.

Can I use it on freshly painted surfaces?

To ensure a clean removal of the tape (without paint!), we advise not to apply to freshly painted surfaces. If the walls have been painted, ensure they have cured for several days according to the paint manufacturer.

Do you have flooring protection tape?

We are in the process of developing and testing tape for hard flooring (tile, wood, vinyl) and for carpets. There are many claims out there of flooring protection that does not leave a residue - we have found this not to be true and are close to releasing products that we can stand behind.

Do you have best practices for Light-Tack Green?

Yes! Light tack/adhesion product for low or negative pressure situations - be sure to leave a 'tail' or loose edge to make it easier to remove the tape. Do not leave on surfaces for longer than required. Our recommended use is for a couple of hours. Formulated for use in Duct Cleaning, Duct Testing, and many other masking applications.

Don't: Smooth or press down all the way around on wall, ceiling or floor surfaces. Problems can occur if attached too firmly. It is also not recommended if used to hold under intense positive pressure. Don't: Use for hazardous containment.

Do you have best practices for Medium-Tack Blue?

Medium-Tack Blue is our flagship product for general use in Duct Cleaning, Duct Testing, and Containment. It can work on most finished surfaces (including cured paint ) and will remove cleanly. Medium-Tack Blue is not suitable for hazardous containment.

Be sure to leave a 'tail' or loose edge to make it easier to remove the tape. Do not leave on surfaces for longer than required. Our recommended use is for a couple of hours. Formulated for use in Duct Cleaning, Duct Testing, and many other masking applications.

Do you have best practices for Heavy-Duty Orange?

Heavy-Duty Orange is the perfect solution for higher pressure, unfinished or rough surfaces in new construction, or commercial/industrial applications. Our customers in colder climates prefer it over other products.

Don't: Be careful with finished surfaces, this high tack formula can peel paint or finish off surfaces, especially if left on over a few hours. We have many users that love this formula because it sticks; others feel it is too sticky! We have three options so that you can find your perfect fit and get the job done.

Do you have best practices for Standard 520 Surface Containment Tape?

Use this to immediately seal mold, asbestos or flaky lead paint on your initial site visit and close the sale! It is NOT a permanent solution; remove anything it covers as problems can be on the backside of the surface also. This is a 6 mil thick, fire retardant containment product that is very adhesive and has a release liner to allow for easy use and application.
